Coming from a multicultural legacy of artists, Cayetana Suzuki plays with concepts of identity, belonging, and power. Using a family archive and methods learned online, they expose themself. Cayetana creates playful commentaries on the social practices between multiple realms—digital vs. physical, public vs. private—questioning systems of power through humor and radical openness. Their work has been exhibited at the Heath Gallery, Established Gallery, and countless anonymous Tumblr blogs. With a background in photography and graphic design, they have worked for Leslie Lohman Museum of Art, Queer Art, and SculptureCenter. They are inspired by great contemporary thinkers including Trisha Paytas, Adrian Piper, and Azealia Banks. Cayetana identifies as a New Yorker.
